“When my skin reacts, it’s usually telling me something deeper.” LEN in conversation with International model Rodny Manful Smedegaard on beyond appearance.”
What has your skin taught you about yourself?
That my body speaks — I just have to listen.
When my skin reacts, it’s usually a sign I’ve been pushing too hard, not sleeping enough, or forgetting to slow down.
It reminds me that balance isn’t just internal — it shows on the outside too.
How does your skincare routine make you feel inside?
It feels like a quiet moment of self-care.
A pause where I don’t have to perform or rush. Just be present.
It brings a sense of calm and control — like I’m gently taking responsibility for my own well-being.
When do you feel most beautiful in your own skin?
After a good laugh with someone I care about. Or right after a run.
That’s when my body feels strong, warm, and alive.
There’s something raw and real about those moments that makes me feel beautiful without even trying.
“It used to be all about appearance — smooth skin, perfect lines, perfection. Now, it’s more about presence and energy.”
How do food and water affect your skin or mood?
A lot, honestly.
When I eat fresh and stay hydrated, I feel lighter and more energized — and my skin glows.
But when I’m not mindful, I notice it quickly. My mood dips, and so does my skin.
How has your idea of beauty changed over time?
It used to be all about appearance — smooth skin, perfect lines, perfection.
Now, it’s more about presence and energy.
I see beauty in people who are fully themselves, even in their messy or quiet moments.
What does your skin need from you right now?
Patience and tenderness.
More water. More rest. Less pressure.
It doesn’t need a dramatic change — just steady kindness and attention.
