A few thoughts on skin and our latest campaign by model Mathilde Grunet.
Becoming the face of this campaign felt really great. I was proud, but also a little nervous because of my breakouts. That’s actually one of the reasons I wanted to do it — to show that skin doesn’t need to be perfect to be beautiful.
I didn’t do anything crazy to prepare for the shoot. I just stuck to what I normally do: I use a gentle cleanser, toner morning and evening, and a good moisturizing cream. My skin reacts quickly, so I also try not to eat too much sugar, salt, or greasy food. It just helps keep my skin calmer — not perfect, just happier.
Once I’m on set, what really helps me relax is getting to know the team a little. When the mood is calm and everyone feels comfortable, I feel more natural and safe in front of the camera.
During the shoot, I was introduced to the Face Mist Extract. My first reaction was that it smelled really nice and felt super fresh on my skin. Now I use it all the time — morning and night, and as a little hydration boost on top of my makeup during the day.
When it gets cold, I switch to an even more moisturizing cream, but otherwise my routine stays the same. I’ve learned that skincare doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s more about finding something that works for your skin and sticking to it.
Balancing school and modeling makes me feel lucky. I’m grateful for the opportunities I get, and I hope to show that breakouts are normal and nothing to hide. Skin changes. We all change. And that’s okay.
